Your dashboard
Membership status, your WCK card details, upcoming meetings and everything the executive board posts — on one screen.
Events, membership, merchandise and M-Pesa payments — the DEKUWEC portal as a proper Android app. Sign in once and it remembers you.
Next expedition
Everything you already do on the portal, sized for a phone and reachable in one tap.
Membership status, your WCK card details, upcoming meetings and everything the executive board posts — on one screen.
See what's coming up, register in a tap and keep track of the walks, treks and weekly Wednesday meetings.
Pay membership fees and settle merchandise orders with M-Pesa, then watch the status update inside the app.
Share moments from the field, react to what other members post, and keep the club gallery alive.
Browse club kit, order what you want and follow the order through to collection.
On a weak connection you get a branded offline screen instead of a browser error — and it reconnects on its own.
Android will interrupt you once or twice on the way. That's normal for an app installed outside the Play Store — here's exactly what you'll see.
Your phone saves DEKUWEC.apk (4.7 MB). Chrome may warn that
“this type of file can harm your device” — that's the generic wording for any app file. Choose Download anyway.
Pull down your notifications and tap the file, or open Files → Downloads and tap
DEKUWEC.apk. Don't worry if you can't find the folder — the notification is the quickest route.
Android blocks unknown apps by default. You'll see “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source.” Tap Settings → turn on Allow from this source → press Back.
This only allows the app you're installing right now. You can switch it back off afterwards.
Tap Install. If Play Protect says “Unsafe app blocked”, tap More details → Install anyway. Then open DEKUWEC and sign in with the same account you use on the website.
Signing in once is enough — the app keeps you logged in after that.
None of these mean something is wrong. They're Android's standard caution for any app not installed from the Play Store.
Why: Android blocks apps that don't come from the Play Store until you opt in for that one source.
Fix: In the dialog tap Settings, enable Allow from this source for Chrome (or Files), then press Back and continue.
Why: Play Protect flags anything Google hasn't scanned in the Play Store. Our app isn't published there, so it appears in that list.
Fix: Tap More details → Install anyway. The app is built and signed by the club, and only requests internet access.
Why: Usually an older copy installed from a different file, or not enough free storage.
Fix: Free up a little space, delete any previous DEKUWEC install, then install again. Updates over an existing install work normally — no uninstall needed.
Why: The portal is live content, so it needs a connection the first time it loads.
Fix: Nothing — check your data or Wi-Fi and the app returns to the portal by itself, or tap Try again on that screen.
Why: For everyone's safety the login occasionally expires.
Fix: Sign in once more — use the same email you use on the website. You stay signed in until the session expires or you uninstall.
Why: The download was interrupted, so the file is incomplete.
Fix: Delete the file and download again over Wi-Fi. Confirm it's about 4.7 MB before opening it.
The app is signed by the club, not by an anonymous third party. Every release lists its SHA-256 fingerprint, so the file you install can be checked against the one we published.

Yes. The app is a member service of the club — there's nothing to buy, no ads and no subscription.
No. The app installs directly from this page, so you don't need Play Store access or a Google account.
No — it's the same portal, opened in a phone-shaped window. Your account, membership and payments work identically in both.
Not yet — this build is Android only. iPhone members should keep using the website.
Come back to this page and download again. Installing over your existing app keeps you signed in — no need to uninstall first.
No. It streams the same pages you'd see in a browser and caches images, so it uses roughly what the website does.
Play Store review takes time and costs a developer account. Publishing directly means members get new versions the day they're ready — the trade-off is the install warning you'll see.
One download, one sign-in, and the club is with you on every trek.
